- 5. _D_o_c_u_m_e_n_t_a_t_i_o_n__E_r_r_o_r_s
-
- +o The online Insight documentation for the printing tools
- is contained in the _I_R_I_S _E_s_s_e_n_t_i_a_l_s manual and the
- _P_e_r_s_o_n_a_l _S_y_s_t_e_m _A_d_m_i_n_i_s_t_r_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e. If you do not
- have these manuals installed, you may want to do so
- now. They came on your IRIX operating system CD.
-
- +o The Add Printer menu (launched from the printers(1M)
- tool) has had a slight menu change that is not
- documented in _I_R_I_S _E_s_s_e_n_t_i_a_l_s or the _P_e_r_s_o_n_a_l _S_y_s_t_e_m
- _A_d_m_i_n_i_s_t_r_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e. The change is to the prompts for
- specifying a local or remote printer. In previous
- releases the prompts were:
-
- Connection Type: [] Local [] Network
-
- This has been changed to:
-
- Printer Connected To: [] Local Host [] Remote Host
-
- The manuals continue to refer to the previous prompts.
-
- This change has been made because the term "Network
- Printer" has come to mean a printer connected directly
- to the network with a network adaptor (an example is a
- printer with an HP JetDirect network adaptor). In the
- past, SGI used the term "Network" to mean a printer
- physically connected to a remote SGI system via a
- parallel port, serial port or SCSI bus. See chapters 3
- and 4 in these release notes for additional information
- about printers that use network cards.
