  11.             is contained in the _I_R_I_S _E_s_s_e_n_t_i_a_l_s manual and the
  12.             _P_e_r_s_o_n_a_l _S_y_s_t_e_m _A_d_m_i_n_i_s_t_r_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e.  If you do not
  13.             have these manuals installed, you may want to do so
  14.             now.  They came on your IRIX operating system CD.

  16.           +o The Add Printer menu (launched from the printers(1M)
  17.             tool) has had a slight menu change that is not
  18.             documented in _I_R_I_S _E_s_s_e_n_t_i_a_l_s or the _P_e_r_s_o_n_a_l _S_y_s_t_e_m
  19.             _A_d_m_i_n_i_s_t_r_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e.  The change is to the prompts for
  20.             specifying a local or remote printer.  In previous
  21.             releases the prompts were:

  23.               Connection Type:  [] Local [] Network
  24.  
  25.             This has been changed to:

  27.               Printer Connected To:  [] Local Host  [] Remote Host
  28.  
  29.             The manuals continue to refer to the previous prompts.

  31.             This change has been made because the term "Network
  32.             Printer" has come to mean a printer connected directly
  33.             to the network with a network adaptor (an example is a
  34.             printer with an HP JetDirect network adaptor).   In the
  35.             past, SGI used the term "Network" to mean a printer
  36.             physically connected to a remote SGI system via a
  37.             parallel port, serial port or SCSI bus.  See chapters 3
  38.             and 4 in these release notes for additional information
  39.             about printers that use network cards.
